‘I want to speak

about bodies

changed into new forms”

Thus begins the Latin poet Ovid in Metamorphosis, and thus the courtyard is filled. The marbled space transforms, perception of what is happening there, as well as that of the floral entities that have come to occupy Orive Palace, becomes something else (doesn’t it?).

Beauty can teach us to look at ordinary items, such as esparto grass, in different ways. The usual white colour of Orive Palace has become a metamorphosis of colour that makes us question what we see.

Who are these creatures we can sense through the mysterious screen? Traces of a landscape? Enormous resting animals? Or perhaps vegetation transformed into animals? With Ovid’s Metamorphosis in mind, KOKON invites viewers to let themselves be guided by a mix of intuition, confusion and curiosity in order to understand this new, ephemeral
architecture.
